Town of Hillsborough Water Utility

The Town of Hillsborough’s (TOH) Water Utility is by far the largest user of water withdrawn from Lake Orange.

The TOH constructed its own reservoir (West Fork Eno Reservoir: WFER) which will have about 1700 million gallons of water available when the WFER is full.   This compares to only 407 million gallons of water available from a full Lake Orange.

Lake Orange, Inc.

Lake Orange, Inc. is a corporation which has  deeded rights to control Recreation on Lake Orange and to charge fees for such use.   Lake Orange, Inc. owns the land around Lake Orange between 615′ elevation and 620′ elevation as well as the Marina with boat launch and docking areas.

NC Division of Water Resources

The Division of Water Resources is a branch in North Carolina government overseeing the water resouces of the state.   Lake Orange is within the Neuse River Basin which is a major water system in Eastern North Carolina. 

Eno River Association

The Eno River Association is a 501c3 non-profit conservation organization whose mission is to conserve and protect the natural, historical, and cultural resources of the Eno River basin.

Lake Orange is a reservoir in the Upper Eno region, specifically on the  eastern branch of the Eno.
